Patau's syndrome is a disorder that was discovered in 1960. The effects of this disorder called Patau's syndrome are:
- That you may have one eye
- You will have breathing problems
- ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
The treatment for this disease is medication, tube feading or a placement of a gostric tube, a hearing aid, and or a vision aid. The life span for this disease is 2.5 days. However, 1 in 20 survive longer then 6 months. This disease is the most least common and the most severe of the visible trisumies. This disease is most likely to happen to Females rather then the Male. However, the Female lives longer. This disease has extra chromosome 13 in the cell or it may be hereditary disorder. Patau's syndrome causes mental retardation and may have one eye and cleff lip. There are miner things that can help this disease. Such as, a diet, ahearing aid, vision aids, and surgery. This disease is very harsh and if I was a doctor I would do what ever I can to help these people with this disease.
